Product Introduction

Geogrid is a geosynthetic material used to reinforce soil, improve soil stability and enhance structural bearing capacity. It is widely used in engineering projects such as roads, railways, dams, slopes, abutments, retaining walls, landfills, etc. It has excellent tensile strength, creep resistance and durability, and plays an important role in soft soil foundation reinforcement, slope stability, roadbed reinforcement and other projects.
Geogrids can be divided into plastic geogrids (such as PP or HDPE), fiberglass geogrids (Fiberglass Geogrid), polyester geogrids (Polyester Geogrid) and steel-plastic composite geogrids according to raw materials and structural forms. According to the structural direction, it can be divided into uniaxial geogrids and biaxial geogrids. Different types of geogrids have different engineering properties and applicable scenarios.

◆ Product Categories

1. Plastic Geogrid
Plastic geogrid is usually made of polypropylene (PP) or high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and is made through processes such as extrusion, punching, heating and stretching. It is divided into unidirectional and bidirectional structures.
Unidirectional plastic grid: It stretches only in one direction and is suitable for projects that require unidirectional force, such as reinforced retaining walls and slope reinforcement.
Bidirectional plastic grid: It has tensile strength in both the longitudinal and transverse directions and is suitable for bidirectional load-bearing occasions such as roadbed reinforcement and soft foundation treatment.
Features: Corrosion resistance, convenient construction, long service life, suitable for large-area paving, and good economy.

2. Fiberglass Geogrid
Fiberglass geogrid is based on glass fiber, and is formed into a grid structure through a warp knitting process, and then treated with resin coating.
Features: High tensile strength, large modulus, high temperature resistance, aging resistance, and strong creep resistance.
Application: It is mostly used for asphalt pavement reinforcement, old road reinforcement, and soft soil foundation reinforcement. It is especially suitable for highways and airport pavements in high temperature areas.

3. Polyester Geogrid
It is made of high-strength polyester filaments, which are woven and then treated with PVC, asphalt and other coatings.
Features: high strength, low elongation, corrosion resistance, light weight, soft and easy to construct.
Application: Used in reinforced retaining walls, bridge abutments, railways, highway slopes and other projects to adapt to complex terrain.

4. Steel-Plastic Composite Geogrid
It is a composite grid made of steel wire and polyethylene extruded into strips and then woven vertically and horizontally.
Features: high tensile strength, high rigidity, low creep, high friction with soil, and stable structure.
Application: Especially suitable for projects with high strength and durability requirements such as high-load roadbeds, railways, airports, dams, etc.

◆ Features

Convenient construction: light, flexible, can be laid quickly, no large machinery is required, and manual laying is sufficient.
Strong environmental adaptability: acid and alkali resistant, corrosion resistant, aging resistant, suitable for various geological and climatic conditions.
Improve service life: through structural reinforcement and material protection, the life of roads and infrastructure can be significantly extended.
High economic benefits: reduce the amount of filler, save construction time and labor costs, and reduce the frequency of later maintenance.
Strong adaptability: can be used in combination with other materials such as geotextiles, geomembranes, drainage boards, etc. to build a multifunctional engineering system.

◆ Main Function

Enhance the structural strength of the soil: Through the interlocking of the grid structure and the filler, a composite reinforcement layer is formed, which greatly improves the overall bearing capacity and stability of the foundation.
Prevent foundation settlement and cracking: disperse the load, limit the lateral deformation of the soil, and delay the development of cracks.
Improve the performance of fill: improve the shear resistance of the soil and improve the overall structural strength of the backfill material.
Reduce construction costs: reduce the thickness of the filler, shorten the construction period, and extend the life of the project, thereby reducing the overall cost.
Improve the flatness and bearing capacity of the road: It is particularly suitable for the reconstruction of old roads and the structural reinforcement of soft soil foundations.

◆ FAQ

What is the main function of geogrid?
Geogrid is mainly used to strengthen the soil structure and improve the bearing capacity and stability of the foundation. It locks with the soil, limits soil deformation, disperses the load, and effectively prevents settlement, cracking and slippage. It is widely used in roads, railways, dams, slopes and other projects to improve the life and safety of the project.

How to choose the right type of geogrid for the project?
The selection of geogrid should be based on the project requirements, soil conditions and force direction. Unidirectional grids are suitable for unidirectional forces (such as retaining walls), and bidirectional grids are suitable for bidirectional reinforcement (such as roadbeds). At the same time, the material type should be considered, such as plastic, fiberglass or polyester, to meet the durability requirements of different environments.

Is the laying construction of geogrid complicated?
The construction of geogrid is relatively simple and is usually laid manually. Before construction, the base should be leveled and compacted, the grid should be kept taut and laid flat, overlapped and anchored according to the design, and backfilled and compacted in layers. Its flexibility and lightness make on-site laying efficient and short construction period, and it can adapt to a variety of construction environments.
